What it costs

The first step is photography of your artwork. I make a high resolution digital capture of the art and make the initial colour rendition as close as possible to the original. You will get a copy of the initial camera file, the print quality file and a JPG of the image for your use.

The cost for this is $50 for a single painting and $40 each for 2 or more paintings done at the same time.

The second step is to make a printed proof and from that make any further adjustments necessary. This step is guided by your viewing of the proof and your suggested adjustments. A final proof will be made for your approval.

This step will usually cost $25-40 but could be more depending on the amount of time required to make needed adjustments.

The above steps are one time charges. Once the proof is approved the digital file will be stored as a print ready file on my system. To order a giclée print you will only need to call me and tell me which image, the size and the media you want and I can get it ready for you. Prints are made on canvas, acid free or regular paper and the costs are calculated on the amount of paper/canvas and ink used.

The area is based on the print size plus the paper/canvas border. This is done on a square foot basis and costs $10/sq.ft. for acid free paper, $6/sq.ft. for regular paper and $12/sq.ft. for canvas. The canvas price includes an archival coating.

A pricing example may help to make it clearer. If you order a 16 x 20 inch giclée print on acid free paper with a 2 inch paper border all around then the cost is 20×24= 480 sq in. divided by 144 = 3.33. Thus the cost of a print will be $33 dollars.

The maximum in one dimension for printed images on paper is 42 inches and on canvas is 38 inches (to allow for stretching). The other dimension can be longer.

Reduced prices for multiple prints of the same image (ordered at the same time) are available up to 30% for orders over 50 copies. I cannot offer the same discount levels for multiple prints on canvas due to the greatly increased hand work required.

For giclée prints on canvas I can also do the stretching if you wish and this will be priced on an individual basis.
